Unofficial Bangka Lungshan Temple Guide

About This Site

An unofficial archive created to help travelers understand the messages contained in Longshan Temple fortune slips.

Why This Site Was Created

This site began after a personal visit to Bangka Lungshan Temple in Taipei, where a fortune slip offered meaningful guidance during a difficult moment.

The original slips are written in classical Chinese, and many Japanese travelers struggle to understand the poems, stories, and 15 detailed Holy Meanings while visiting the temple.

We operate this archive to help readers understand these sacred words in clear modern language and use them as thoughtful guidance in daily life.

Our Editorial Commitments

  1. We aim to balance accuracy and readability while preserving the dignity of the original poems.
  2. We provide broader travel support, including worship etiquette, deity guides, and nearby food recommendations.
  3. We review user corrections and information reports sincerely and use them to improve the archive.

How We Present and Correct Information

Fortune pages distinguish the Chinese poem, story title, interpretation, and traditional categories from this site’s paraphrase, summary translation, and commentary. Our commentary is not an official temple explanation.

Translations and commentary for all 100 entries were reviewed against our existing Chinese transcription. The full original collection has not been collated against a temple-held edition. Unconfirmed wording is retained rather than reconstructed, and result pages describe the review status and the scope of references.

Transport, prices, programs, and opening hours can change. Check the references in each article and the relevant official sources before making travel plans.

Where an article shows a checked date, it indicates when its information was compared with its sources. We do not display a blanket date on articles that have not been checked.

To report an error, please include the page URL, the passage in question, and a link to a source we can check via the contact form
